Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 29, 2026

Unfair Sports collects only what it needs to run fan polls: your account details, your ballots, and basic technical data. We never sell your information. This policy explains what we collect on unfairsports.com, why, and the choices you have. “Unfair Sports,” “we” and “us” mean Phrozen Media, LLC, which operates the site.

Information we collect

When you create an account with email: a username, your email address, a password (stored only in encrypted form; we can’t see it), and the display name you choose.

When you sign in with Google: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your contacts, Gmail, Drive, calendar or any other Google data.

When you vote: your ranked ballot, which poll and week it belongs to, when you submitted or changed it, and whether you voted as a fan or an approved media voter.

When you request media access: your outlet, show or channel name, a link to your work, and any note you include.

Automatically: like most websites, our hosting provider records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and the time of each visit. We use cookies as described below.

How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and keep you signed in
  • To record one ballot per account per week and let you edit it until voting closes
  • To calculate and publish the combined Fan Poll and Media Poll rankings
  • To prevent duplicate accounts, bots and vote manipulation
  • To review media access requests and contact you about them
  • To send account emails, such as password resets and media approval notices
  • To keep the site secure, fix problems and understand which features are used

What is public

  • Fan ballots are private. We publish only the combined rankings. Your individual fan ballot and your name are never shown publicly.
  • Media ballots are public. If you are approved as a media voter, your name, outlet, link and full ballot are published on the Media Ballots page after each week’s voting closes. You agree to this when you request media access.
  • Shared graphics and links contain combined rankings only, never personal information.

Information from Google

We use information received from Google only to sign you in and to create and maintain your Unfair Sports account. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Unfair Sports’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can remove Unfair Sports’ access at any time in your Google Account under Security → Third-party apps & services.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We share it only:

  • With service providers that run the site for us: our web host (Bluehost), Google (for Google sign-in), and our email delivery service. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
  • When pages load fonts: our pages load the Bebas Neue and Montserrat fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser information when you visit. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • When you choose to share: the share buttons open X, Threads, Facebook, Bluesky, Reddit or Instagram only when you click them. Those sites’ own privacy policies then apply.
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public or Unfair Sports.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale of the site, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

The sports statistics behind our metrics come from public sports data services (CollegeFootballData.com and balldontlie.io). We send them no information about you.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, all needed for the site to work:

  • Sign-in cookies that keep you logged in and protect your account
  • A cookie set during Google sign-in that returns you to the page you were on
  • A test cookie that checks your browser accepts cookies at login

We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add analytics or advertising, we will update this policy first. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you won’t be able to sign in or vote without them.

How long we keep information

  • Account information: for as long as your account is open.
  • Ballots: kept as part of the historical poll record so past weeks’ rankings stay accurate.
  • When you delete your account: we delete your account information, and your ballots stay only as anonymous contributions to past results that can’t be linked back to you. Media ballots are no longer shown with your name.
  • Server logs: kept by our host for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

Your choices and rights

You can update your display name and email in your account profile at any time. To get a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account and information, email us at Info@unfairsports.com from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires.

Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states, the European Union and the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights: to know what we collect, to access, correct, delete or move your information, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. If you are in the EU or UK, we rely on our agreement with you to provide your account and ballots, on our legitimate interests to secure the site and prevent abuse, and on your consent where we ask for it. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store passwords only in encrypted form, and limit who can access account data. No website is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you think your account has been compromised.

Children

Unfair Sports is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Where your information is stored

The site is operated from and hosted in the United States. If you use it from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date. If the changes are significant, we will also post a notice on the site or email registered users.
