Terms of Service

By creating an account or using unfairsports.com, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. “Unfair Sports,” “we” and “us” mean UNFAIRSports.

1. Who can use the site

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission. The site is free to use.

2. Your account

• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• One person, one account. Creating extra accounts to cast extra ballots is not allowed.
• Keep your password secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• Tell us right away at Info@unfairsports.com if you think someone else has used your account.

3. Voting rules

• Each account may submit one ballot per poll per week. You can change it until voting closes.
• Rankings are combined using our published scoring method, the same way the AP poll scores ballots.
• You may not use bots, scripts, multiple accounts, purchased or traded votes, or any coordinated effort to manipulate results.
• We may remove ballots or accounts that we reasonably believe break these rules, at any time and without notice, and recalculate results.
• We may change poll schedules, team lists, ballot sizes or scoring, pause a poll, or end a poll at any time.
• Polls are for fun and discussion. There are no prizes, and results are opinions, not official rankings.

4. Media voters

• Media access is approved at our discretion, and we may revoke it at any time.
• You must represent a real outlet, show, channel or publication, and the information you give us must be accurate.
• Your ballots are public. Your name, outlet, link and complete ballot are published after each week’s voting closes.
• Media ballots must reflect your own honest opinion and must not be sold or influenced by payment.

5. The Unfair Index and other metrics

The Unfair Index, power ratings and related metrics are our own analysis for entertainment and discussion. They are built from third-party data that may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. They are not predictions you should rely on, and they are not betting, gambling or financial advice. We may change the formulas at any time.

6. Sharing our graphics and rankings

You’re welcome to share our rankings graphics, results and links on social media and elsewhere, as long as you:

• keep the Unfair Sports branding and don’t alter the graphic in a way that misrepresents the results
• don’t use them to suggest that Unfair Sports endorses you, a product or a cause
• don’t use them commercially (for example in ads, paid products or paid content) without our written permission

7. Our content and trademarks

The Unfair Sports name, logo, emblem, site design, graphics, written content and the Unfair Index are owned by Unfair Sports and protected by law. Apart from the sharing allowed in section 6, you may not copy, sell or reuse them without our written permission. Combined poll results are our content; your individual ballot choices remain your own opinions.

8. No affiliation

Unfair Sports is an independent fan site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the NCAA, the NBA, the Associated Press, the College Football Playoff, any conference, any team or any data provider. Team, league and conference names are used only to identify them and belong to their respective owners.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• hack, overload, disrupt or try to gain unauthorized access to the site or other users’ accounts
• scrape or copy the site’s data in bulk, or use automated tools against it, without our written permission
• impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection to any person, outlet or organization
• use the site for anything illegal, harassing, hateful or abusive

10. Third-party services

The site works with outside services, including Google sign-in, social media sites (X, Threads, Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, Reddit) and sports data providers. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We aren’t responsible for them.

11. Ending your account

You can stop using the site at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing Info@unfairsports.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or harm the site or other users. Sections 5 through 8 and 12 through 15 continue to apply after your account ends.

12. Disclaimer

The site, polls, rankings and metrics are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee that the site will always be available, error-free or secure.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Unfair Sports and its owners, contributors and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to $100. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold Unfair Sports harmless from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that result from your breaking these Terms or misusing the site.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma County, and you agree to those courts’ jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and for significant changes we will also post a notice on the site. If you keep using the site after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
